In UK, for the 8GB model, the device went on sale at £135 while in the US, the device is priced at $179 and the Indian price is expected to be less than Rs 15,000.
It has a quad-core processor, a 4.5-inch HD screen. The smartphone will be getting an update to Android 4.4 in the coming weeks. Moto G has a 2,070mAh battery and 5-megapixel camera, in a casing that comes in a choice of colours.
As per market news, the smartphone will launch in Asia as well in the next few weeks, and will hit Hong Kong and Singapore in the first wave. For those living in India, the ot will arrive in the second wave that’s set for early January next year.
India’s low and mid range smartphone market is dominated by Samsung and local players like Micromax and Carbonn. With launch of Moto G, Motorola(Google) will give them tough competition.
